Armenia extends external auditor criteria to crypto-asset providers
On 3 September 2026, CBA Resolution 229-N was officially published. Adopted on 25 August, it amends the criteria for entities auditing financial organisations to include crypto-asset service providers.
The amendments extend Regulation 22 to these providers. They also specify that the provisions for reporting issuers apply to a provider that does not deliver either of the services identified in Article 16(1), points 1 or 10, of the Law on Crypto-Assets.
The measure forms part of the regulated market’s audit framework. The applicable auditor criteria depend on a provider’s service scope. The resolution expressly takes effect on the day after official publication. Its adoption and publication dates should therefore be distinguished.
