Kazakhstan and Hungary agree on digital currency and payment cooperation
On 20 October, the National Bank of Kazakhstan reported a memorandum with Hungary’s central bank, signed alongside the IMF and World Bank annual meetings.
It provides for cooperation on financial stability, digital currencies, payment systems, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity. The announcement sets out areas of collaboration; it does not announce a joint digital currency or a new payment service.
